StopTheChamber.com Calls for U.S. Government to Halt All Contracts With HBGary Federal, Berico Technologies and Palantir Technologies Because of Their Involvement in Chamber of Commerce Dirty Tricks Campaign

WASHINGTON, April 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- StopTheChamber.com, a national campaign dedicated to exposing excesses and unethical activities of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, today, April 19, 2011, called for all agencies of the U.S. Government to halt all contracts with three military intelligence contractors involved in the recent "Chamberleaks" scandal.  These contractors, HBGary Federal, Berico Technologies and Palantir Technologies, have and have pending millions of dollars in contracts with the Department of Defense, National Security Agency, Department of Justice and other agencies.   They were recently caught red handed in a Watergate type dirty tricks campaign aimed at NGOs, unions and reporters which is called "Chamberleaks" because it was instigated on behalf of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.  The companies used applications developed from government and military intelligence contracts to create a spying, malware and disinformation campaign to destroy opponents of the Chamber, including StopTheChamber.com.   See this Brad Blog article for more information.

"Congressman Hank Johnson has taken the lead in the Chamberleaks investigation with hearings and letters demanding copies of all government contracts with these military intelligence contractors," said StopTheChamber.com attorney and spokesman Kevin Zeese.  "The contractors themselves have not cooperated or made any effort to take responsibility for their outrageous conduct on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce.  They have not made any attempt to compensate the Chamberleaks victims or to provide them a full accounting of what the Chamber and its lawyers wanted them to do to those victims. Clearly, these contractors do not deserve any further funding or contracts from the U.S. Government.  Therefore, today we are calling on the heads of all federal agencies, including the DOD, NSA and DOJ, to halt all contracts with HBGary Federal , Berico and Palantir, and to table any pending contracts or proposals by these companies.  The contractors must be held accountable for using taxpayer money to target taxpayers engaged in constitutionally protected activity.  They must not be allowed to misuse applications developed for military use against law abiding American citizens."

StopTheChamber.com has also filed bar complaint against the Chamber of Commerce attorneys Richard Wyatt, John Woods and Robert Quackenboss at Hunton & Williams who hired the contractors  on behalf of the Chamber.

StopTheChamber.com has also requested a criminal investigation by the Department of Justice into this matter.
